Latched and Loved on a Mission

Latched and loved was started with a passion for helping parents start off their journey together with education and confidence to do what is best for their baby. Often, parents are unaware of the struggles and uncertainties they will face in the first few months after their baby is born. Not only is it uncharted territory for new moms, seasoned parents are experiencing this new baby for the first time. Every time a family welcomes a baby, it is the start of a new journey. Both mom and dad may experience a postpartum mood disorder along the way, and familiarizing themselves with warning signs is the number one way to notice signs and symptoms and know when and how to seek treatment. Perinatal mood disorders can be debilitating and in some cases, life threatening. We need to bring light on the possibility of it happening to any new mom, regardless of race, socioeconomic status, or age. One way to ensure parents are in their right state of mind is a support group. Latched and Loved uses donated funds to run monthly support groups to provide parents a safe place to ask questions and meet other moms who may be embarked on a similar journey.

Breastfeeding is known world-wide as the best method to feed a baby; however, that comes with its own hurdles and obstacles.  With a support system in place, moms can provide the best possible nutrition to their baby. We previously  passed down breastfeeding knowledge from generation to generation. But along the way, when women went back to work and the men were fighting wars, we lost the art of breastfeeding and became unable to pass it down to the next generation. With the right education and support we can revive the art and normalize breastfeeding again. Women leave the hospital with a new life they have to provide for, and sometimes they have questions they need answered. Parents sometimes are not aware of how much misinformation is presented to them, and it is difficult to differentiate between fact and fiction. Latched and Loved is here to provide moms of all walks of life with the opportunity to gain education and ask questions so they can do what they do best: be a mom.
